Cox Plate and Cup hopes will be all to the fore as they run Turnbull Stakes Day at Flemington on Saturday.

That G1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m) will see quite a challenge for those wishing to get a run with those big races in mind.

One of the most interesting runners all carnival will be seen here as Romantic Warrior ($2) brings his elite Hong Kong form to Melbourne.

But he will face some in form contenders such as Gold Trip ($15), Right You Are ($26), Soulcombe ($8) and Young Werther ($15).

The G2 Danehill Stakes (1100m) gives the 3yos another dress rehearsal for the Coolmore. Can Archo Nacho do it again against the likes of Barber and Kandinsky Abstract.

Melbourne Cup entry comes with the Bart Cummings (2510m) and a full field is assured. Horses like First Immortal ($3.50), Cleveland ($15) and Serpentine ($17) will be ones to watch.

The sprinters ready themselves for the other straight-track races coming up in the G2 Gilgai Stakes (1200m). Jigsaw ($7) and Star Patrol ($3) are big players.

Another of the important races is the G2 Edward Manifold Stakes (1600m) even without the Thousand Guineas coming up. Amazonian Lass and Legacies should enjoy the mile.
